Vacation

I have returned from my vacation now. Here is a brief rundown of it

On Boxing day, I caught the ferry to Vancouver Island. I was picked up at the Departure Bay by Marissa's grandmother, and ended up driving back to Ladysmith because she wasn't coping well. My Christmas gift from Maria was a nice red fleece tracksuit top.

Watched a few movies (Nine Months & Meet Joe Black) over the next few days, and drove out to Duke Point to pick up Marissa's father (Ullrich) on Friday. He then drove back. Had a great dinner including my father's own red wine that night. Had one of Ullrich's home-brewed champagnes with dinner the next evening, it was also quite nice.

I bought a decent bottle of champagne (Tott's) to drink on New Year's Eve. Which was preceded by a bottle of Ullrich's '98 Chianti and cheeses. We lit up a candle and put it on the porch towards midnight. At midnight, I opened the champagne, and we played a bagpipe version of "Auld Land Syne" quite loudly and played with some sparklers as well.

After midnight, we undecorated the christmas tree, and chopped it down into firewood while drinking irliquer (a german brew of egg yolk, vodka and spices). Then we went to bed.

This morning, Marissa went for the Ladysmith polar bear swim again, it was her third time this year. Last year she stayed in for 22 minutes, but this year she was much quicker. We came home, gave her a warm bath to heat her up again, and ate lunch. The candle we put outside the night before was still burning slowly.

We got the 3.15pm ferry from Duke Point home, and I took Translink from King George Station to home.

My new computer is still glitching up some, and I have no idea of how to solve my problem yet. I have posted the hardware listing before so you can see that. I think the problem is based around IRQ's and the video card, which should get IRQ11 acording to the documentation. However, once I install the driver for it, it only goes on IRQ9 along with many other devices. Any suggestions would be appreciatied.

Now i'm going to bed, because I am quite tired out.
