TechBC Alumni time!

1st Annual SIAT TechBC Alumni Event: April 24. 2008

When: Thursday April 24th, 2008

Where: Room 3400, SFU Surrey Campus

* Drinks at the pub afterwards for those interested (please add a note in your RSVP if you plan on going to the pub so we can arrange reservations)

1st Annual Alumni Event: Catch up with old school friends. See where people have been and what people have been doing since grad.

Casual atmosphere with food and beverages from 6-630. Short 3-5 minute presentations from siat alumni about what they are doing in the industry between 630-730. The 3-5 minute presentations will be a great opportunity to let everyone know what you are doing, help connect you with others who share similar career paths, and to connect alumni seeking jobs to the right people.

I am me. More specifically, I entered TechBC in it's original incarnation in 2001, graduating in 2005, doing a hybrid of the IT software+hardware streams - I skipped the hardcore 4th-year signals stuff, as well as the 4th-year game design stuff, taking a more operating-systems approach instead.

Other than that, I presently own the techbc.ca domain (content to come up for the reunion), as well as now host the original TekBC underground forum, which I'd like to revive for SIAT students.

I thought SIAT and TechBC were two completely DIFFERENT entities.

I mean yes, same campus, but will there be TechBC alumnus there? I'd think it'd only be SIAT alumnus there...

well they mailed the TechBC alumnus - and we expect to come. Officially speaking, while we enrolled in TechBC, we graduated during the formation of SIAT, as SIAT students - only with special degree titles.
