Just thinking, I had a weird dream last night. I was with a bunch of schoolkids at a SkyTrain station. I don't know which one tho, but it looked like some elements of the spare platform at Stadium station. Then a SkyTrain inspector showed them how to walk on the tracks safely. They waddled like pengiuns on either side of the live line.

I'm going to buy my normal lunch now. Back in a bit.

I was running quite late this morning. I woke up around 7.05am. I normally leave by 6.45am. So I rushed, skipped my breakfast, dashed out to the bus, and made it to my Math lab in the nick of time still. Maybe I should re-think my wakeup time to get more sleep #-P.

The math wasn't hard yet again. I just need to work on my art homework now, but I'm hungry, so I am going to get an early lunch.

Just thinking on transit this morning, the palm/handspring would be the best item for me, as I would get a lot of use out of it, as I could always have something to read on me, and I can write a fair bit more. Possibly doing programming on it 8-).

My Song Display program works nicely.

Have a look at some more of it:

It is a flash file reading the XML data from my server :-)

Just seeing all the quizes in everybodies journals, [livejournal.com profile] amethest made a suggestion. Given that quizes and surveys tend to take up more space than real content, they should be reduced with the <lj-cut> tag. To see more about the tag, look here.

Yay! I have got my WinAmp/XMMS song display program working roughly. Check it out . That is the browser front-end, but I intend to do a lot more work on it still. Most of the data is output as CSV at the moment, but I have written an XML data output module that will probably come into use sometime.

My homework also goes reasonably, but my business essay due on the weekend is a 12 page monster.

Today wasn't too bad. After getting up extra early this morning, and getting a ride to Brentwood with my father to catch the bus from there (He was going away on business), I grabbed a 123 New West bus and caught the skytrain from there. I had to wonder around the mall for about 20 minutes before Michelle, the TechBC security gaurd arrived to turn off the security system.

Aside from my earlier post about Java class, I also had my Process Elements class, in which my essay was used anonymously by the teacher for an example essay with only a few little things wrong with it in the formatting. I will just need to fix them myself before I can submit the paper.

Before my math class, I spent a little more time working on my winamp song display system, but I've still got that one bug left. I was also helping Gordon with fixing up an SGI 320 Workstation, dual P3 550mhz/512mb RAM etc. But it a very custom system, so running Linux on it is going to be difficult.

I went to my math class but left early because it was starting to snow again, and I do not want to have have difficulty travelling home. I stopped at a jewellers at Metrotown to get my watch battery replaced then grabbed the 130 bus to Hastings. On that bus, I ran into both Jon Kwan and Matt Pierce. Just as a freaky co-incidence. Then waiting for the 136, I ran into somebody who is in grade 11 this year at North and I knew from being there. I get on the bus, and there my brother is coming home from his work. He also claims to have seen Yvonne when he was going to work.

I've just spent the entire Java class programming the winamp song display. It is going ok, apart from a really weird PHP bug I'm experiencing. I have a physical class that I need to attend next, that doesn't have computers for me to carry on working on this :-(

Anyway, I am making definate progress with it, it spits out XML data 8-).

Yay! I'm writing my own song display thing for my webpage. I'm using TrackMonkey to send out the data to my server, and then it will be displayed on a webpage. I have the data going into a MySQL database so far. The rest of it I will write tommorow morning.

This song has a really nice ambience to it with the humming in the background.

In terms of programming there are a whole lot of things that have been simmering in my mind for a while now:

  1. A gift wishlist system - because whenever somebody's birthday comes up, they keep saying I don't know what I want, and they have mentioned things many months before only.
  2. A webcam system, primarily to control viewing of the webcams during certain hours or certain events [That's you Yvonne... ;-) ]. It would by default display all the public images to people who are not logged in, and when the cameras are in public mode. If a camera is in 'private' mode, which is either on a timed basis or set by the owner, it can only be viewed by people who are logged in to it and have permission.
  3. Something is display information about the song current loaded in my WinAMP on my webpage.

I've just taken out the trash and recycling. This morning, I got up around 8.30am, had a shower, and took Marissa with her computer back up to SFU, since the weather was a lot more reasonable today. I hung around SFU for a bit while she had a tutorial, and put up a whole batch of TechBC flyers on the billboards :-). Then I came back down the mountain on a 135 to Holdom. As I stood waiting for the 136, I built a snow baby on the bus bench :-).

When walking through lots of slush and slippery stuff, treading in the soft powder is the best way to keep your footing.

I'm reinstalling Windows 98 on my mother's computer now (My old computer), but windows update is really slow :-(.

I have a load of work ahead of me, since next week is an exam week. Take a gander at my assignment due listing:
