Mar. 9th, 2002 10:19 pmI walk out of my computer room. Hmm Why is that computer so quiet? *looks behind it*. The fan failed on the power supply, and the system was running really hot. I shut it down, started to take it apart, stopped for dinner (Roast Chicken), opened up the power supply. Hurmph. 'Hazardous' and 'No user serviceable components inside'. Whatever. I'm a user, and I can fix these things. Loads of dust in there. Vacumn them up, and the vacumn cleaner starts to choke *ghhhg*. Re-greased the fan, put it back together properly, put it in to test it. And then it shocks me. AFTER I have dealt with the high-voltage components. Bah!

Date: 2002-03-10 12:53 am (UTC)I have had that done to me before when I was mucking around with an old AT PSU a few years ago. Touched a wrong spot and then a nice little jolt climbed up my arm and jerked it back while at the same time burning the tips of my fingers.
Whee, super-fun!
