I needed a replacement power supply for an eSATA enclosure I purchased (the original one had a nasty transformer whine, I accidently got one that hadn't been replaced by the manufacter already).
The manufacter has done a sterling job, however FedEx seems to be screwing up all over the place.
The short version:
- Package left Irvine, CA, on 16/Nov, 15h37.
- Went to depot, and on to Los Angeles, CA.
- Sat in LA from 16/Nov 21h55 until 18/Nov 03h16 - just over 29 hours.
- Arrived in Oakland, CA, 18/Nov 11h24. (No notation as to when it left Oakland)
- Arrived in Anchorage, AK, 20/Nov 11h50 (48 hours after it arrived in Oakland). Left Anchorage 20/Nov. 16h25
- Arrived in Memphis, TN, 21/Nov 00h53. Left Memphis 02h23.
- Arrived in Vancouver, BC, 21/Nov 07h20.
- Then they attempted to deliver it, and I was out, and saw their note.
- Now the fun bit. At some point they sent it BACK to Anchorage, AK, and it left Anchorage at 16h49 again.
- Then it arrived in Memphis, TN again at 22/Nov 01h34.
- Suddenly it's in Vancouver (no notation of left Memphis). And they try to deliver it again, with my upstairs neighbour ending up signing for it.

Date: 2008-03-07 06:22 pm (UTC)Apple is sending me a laptop for to love and hold and smooch in admiration. Yesterday I got THIS little gem.
Delivery exception
Incorrect address
And they havn't called me, and there is no activity listed for today. I have no clue who to call/murder with swords, considering I checked double checked triple checked the shipping address I sent to Apple, and it is completely without flaw.
Anyway, today I'm going to buy a thousand chickens and release them in the Fedex office. And then I think I will feel much better.

Give them your tracking #, I'd bet $5 that Apple fucked up the address label.
My correct address has 'Rear Basement Suite' in the second line and that causes a lot of trouble. I actually have the FedEx# in my cellphone so I can phone them and bitch when they screw something up. Start nice on the phone, and if they give you a hard time, alternate between good cop/bad cop.
It's probably too late today to get it delivered, however if it's actually at their depot. If I recall, the two main locations for the lower mainland at downtown (Hornby @ Smithe) and Burnaby (Dawson @ Madison). If the package is there, you can probably just get yourself out there and pay customs, and pick it up in person.

Date: 2008-03-07 11:20 pm (UTC)I had it delivered to my business addess. I work at a hotel. He saw that it was a hotel and turned back, because there was no suite #. Because nobody works at hotels. Now I have to find out where they put it, and see if I can get it. I hear they close at 4? And I won't be able to pick up on the weekend? And I may not be able to do it without the "sorry we missed you" slip?

Date: 2008-03-07 11:36 pm (UTC)The driver is usually back at the depot by 4 or 5pm, and the depot closes at 6pm. The trick is which depot he was going back to. Your tracking details should say. (and the person on the phone will be able to say with certainty).
