3D Studio MAX
Feb. 3rd, 2004 01:31 amA 3D Studio MAX question for those out there in the know.
Version is 5/6 (I have access to both, and it should work in both).
Basically, I want to render an object I'm modelling, using the wireframe option, but NOT have rest of the wireframe be transparent. The background part of the wireframe just needs to be solid black instead of transparent (although being able to change it's colour would be useful).
I can do a naive solution involving cloning my object, and making the clone be slightly smaller and have a solid black texture, but this is really not good as the object will be involved in a complex animation.
This is what I get presently (this is not my object, but a test object instead). Notice how the blue grid shows thru the figure, along with the back edges of the object. :-(.
( Example image (200k) )Edit: The plane in the background also shows the same problem, and I need to keep the lines in it, as they show perspective, and there will also be other objects shaded in the same style later on. (This is for the benefit of the person that suggested simply turning off the extra lines on the plane).
