PowerPC has the ability to operate under Big Endian and Little Endian. As such AC_C_BIGENDIAN can't tell you one way or the other. It's up to the developer to use the universal section to define which way they'd like to use. Obviously, this choice would be hard set to the way that the xorg-server defaults to itself.
