Today was my first day back at TechBC for the new semester. I have a really wicked schedule here now.
Tuesdays 8.30am-11.30am, 3.00pm-4.30pm.
Thursdays 8.30am-10am, 4pm-5.20pm.
And in the time between class, I will be working at my research assistant job here, since I am gifted with being able to choose my own hours to work basically. 10 hours per week. AND I get paid $13.50 per hour, so it's a really sweet deal. I'll also end up doing some work on the thursday evenings, while I wait to get a ride from somebody.
The only problem with this schedule, is that I have to be up quite early on those mornings. 6am to be exact. Translink sucks. I have to catch the 136 Vancouver first, then switch to the 130 Metrotown, so that I can get to Metrotown and take a 20 minute Skytrain ride to Surrey. It will be nice when the new SkyTrain line is completely open, as then I can walk for 5 minutes, and ride 30 minutes on the skytrain and be at my destination, instead of my convoluted 1h15 journey around the lower mainland.
First class this morning was Introduction to Programming. Considering the amount of programming I have done before, the course is going to be a breeze. I'm trying to see if there is a challenge program so I can skip it and get to sleep in instead. Ideally, if I can do that, then I will also see if I can swap my math blocks with somebody else in section two, as then I only need to come to school at 10am on both days, and I can leave a lot earlier on Tuesdays. 3pm to be exact.
Immedietly after Programming, I have either Business in a Global Econonmy II or Process Elements II. This week I had the former, and all we basically did was choose the teams that we would be in for the next 15 14 weeks, and we came up with our team contracts, then started on next weeks assignment of coming up with an idea for our own business.
