With my chronic snooze-button hitting, I really need a better alarm-clock system.
I see that MIT has very recently solved it for me!

When the alarm clock goes off and the snooze button is pressed, Clocky will roll off the bedside table and wheel away, bumping mindlessly into objects on the floor until it eventually finds a spot to rest. Minutes later, when the alarm sounds again, the sleeper must get up out of bed and search for Clocky. This ensures that the person is fully awake before turning it off. Small wheels that are concealed by Clocky's shag enable it to move and reposition itself, and an internal processor helps it find a new hiding spot every day.

Heehee. A Clocky sounds like it would wreak total havoc in my room. Relatedly, I've heard about alarm clocks they sell in Hong Kong, where after it goes off, it spews a whole bunch of pieces of a puzzle all over the place, and the only way to get the thing to shut up is to do a menial yet cognitively-engaging task such as putting all the eggs back in the clock or something weird like that. Until I can score either Clocky or one of those gadgets, my current method is putting the clock on the top of the closet door and hoping I don't knock it onto my head in my sleepy stupor. And it also appears I have "sleepy stupor" muscle memory, because it doesn't seem to work as well as it used to. :|

man, they should make a clock that fights you and you must best it in martial combat in order to snooze.
