Been prodded into this

After being told my posts are written in binary, and that they are "all geek, all the time", I thought a general post might be in order.

I am getting married on 2006/August/19, to [livejournal.com profile] amethest.

Now to proceed with my TODO list for today.

Congrats!

You could elaborate beyond three lines...

When/Where, what style of wedding, whether you're excited, nervious, scared?

How long you've been with me?

I know that icon!
but.. from where...? o.0
this is an amazing number of coincidences.

Do you remember what colour the icon was?
The original was in blue, and I found that.
I photoshopped it into a green variant that I use, and a friend asked for a red variant which I then did.

I don't really know you, but congrats!

[I wish I had feedback on my posts.]

How did you meet?

[How do nerds get girls? :)]

At Metrorown, waiting for the 144 SFU bus, 14 September 2001.

The bus stop? I wish I could do that. I guess it was meant to be.

Cool.

I met my ubernerd husband on Undernet (IRC) in #vancouver back in 2000. How dorky is that?

[identity profile] observing-ego.livejournal.com 2006-08-11 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
My longest relationships are long distance. I wonder why I haven't found anyone in my local area. Used to think it was because I'm too nerdy. But I guess that isn't it.

[identity profile] beverly-sutphin.livejournal.com 2006-08-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Bah, I just checked out your live journal and you're not even THAT nerdy... There were all kinds of socially adept commentary and even social engagements (real live ones!) that you attended recently.

;)

You must be a crossover nerd, like me. In contact and participating in both words, but fully immersed in neither. It's an interesting existance.

I'm a comic book artist who works security. I rarely mention the comic book part because I'm still getting back to drawing again.

Most of the places I go to, I'm alone. I have never liked spectator sports. And I've been fans of the simpsons and the farside cartoons - geek humour - for as long as they've been around. I do interact with people, but usually after they've talked to me, first. :) And computers have been a big part of my life for around a dozen years.

I've never heard the description, "crossover nerd" before. At present that sounds like an apt description, but I can't say that would describe my entire so-called adult life.

As a side note: your icon is a little distracting. :) "Oooo.. Boob!"

Congratulations, best wishes to both of you.

Oh snap! I totally got you chewed out by your wife-to-be. I'm sorry, man! I meant it as a compliment... my hubby is just like you in that awesome nerdorific way.

Amazing, fantastic and well-wishes to you and amethest!
