HTML

What is it that so many people cannot type accented characters in HTML and ICQ ? It totally irks me when people are trying to write something, and leave out the accents that are critical for the meaning of the word. English itself hardly has any accents, but with words from other langauges, the accents are critical.

In spanish:
Usted está comiendo - You are eating
Usted esta comiendo - You this eating

Firstly, to do accents on words in ICQ:
ê ô î â û : ctrl-shift-6 then the letter
ë ö ï ä ü : ctrl-; then the letter
é ó í á ú : ctrl-’ then the letter
Ê Ô Î Â Û : ctrl-shift-6 then shift-letter
Ë Ö Ï Ä Ü : ctrl-; then shift-letter
É Ó Í Á Ú : ctrl-' then shift-letter

(Posting about doing it in HTML follows)

If you want to put one of these characters in, first type in '&' then the word from the right column, exactly as it is, then follow it with a ';', with no spaces. So the first one you would type as 'À'
